Saterday 23 th - 27 th of January 2016: start Lanzarote - La Palma

On Thursday and Friday Kees and Margaretha arrived.
On Thursday we did a small job in the mast.... Kees did. Jan Hayward explained and educated Kees how to solder the new vhf antenna.
Kees did very well. Jan did a check on Friday and the signal was great.
So Saturday we left the harbour between 11u30 and 12u30.

The first night we sailed with too little sail. But better safe than fast is my motto, knowing that my crew still do not know well the ship and sailing in Canary Islands. Meanwhile, i found out why thr Volvo Ocean SCA team came to train here😉
Sometimes you really have to deal with high waves and a lot of wind. During this trip we had medium to low wind.
Because i couldn't sleep the first night and i was exhausted, we took the decision to sail to SC de Tenerife. We entered the marina around 20h and rested there for 2 nights. Now i know why doctors told me to not work anymore at night.... i only didn't sleep, worked a little bit and had a nasty swell.... i really was exhausted and needed to rest a lot.

On Tuesday we left Tenerife, sail against the wind for 6 hours and then turned NW heading SC de la Palma.
We had 12-15 knots wind (average) but on Wednesday we had too litlle wind. We even tried 'melkmeisje' because there was so less wind and almost no swell or waves. First time to experience this in the Canaries. Mostly of the time you have a lot of wind here and too often high waves.
